Watershed modeling - Swat course

7th to 9th of June 2010 - Portugal - Lisbon - Instituto Superior Técnico

OVERVIEW

Computer models have become increasingly important tools for analyzing complex problems involving water flow and contaminant transport in the soils and groundwater. This course is designed to familiarize participants with the principles and analysis of watershed flows and transport processes. The focus of the course will be especially on watershed modeling using SWAT.

SWAT is a river basin scale model developed to quantify the impact of land management practices in large, complex watersheds. SWAT is a public domain model actively supported by the USDA Agricultural Research Service at the Grassland, Soil and Water Research Laboratory in Temple, Texas, USA.

This course is intended for individuals with interest on modeling watershed processes and it will be followed by a course about Mohid Land and its linkage with SWAT:
